Starting his first acquisition in 1960s, dr Oei Hong Djien, the founder of OHD Museum has acquired more than 2000 artworks over the past forty years.

Dr Oei's collection includes paintings, sculptures and installations by several of Indonesia's best known modern artists, such as Affandi (1907-1990), Basoeki Abdullah (1915-1993), Hendra Gunawan (1916-1983), S. Sudjojono (1913-1986), H. Widayat (1919-2002), Soedibio (1912-1981), etc; and also young artists like Entang Wiharso, Heri Dono, Nasirun, Rudi Mantofani, Alfi, Pupuk Daru Purnomo, Yusra Martunus, Masriadi, Yunizar, etc. .
